March 30, 2021 – Open Letter to RGF Employees
RGF Family,
We have all waited, together, this past year to start seeing some light at the end of the tunnel in regard to the great pandemic of our respective lifetimes. For the last year, we as a small community of 64 employees, have done our part by wearing masks, keeping social distance, and being smart in the never-ending effort to stay healthy and safe. The health and safety of our team and the customers we serve have remained a top priority. In doing so, we have remained open for business so we can provide for our families and be there to serve our great customers.
With the release of the COVID vaccine, we now have an opportunity to be leaders in the fight to get life back to a more normal version we all desire. As of today, 540,000 Americans have lost their life to COVID, and it’s high time we do our small part to contribute to the end. Vaccinations are opening for all Tennesseans by April 5th.
I don’t know about you, but I trust my brother-in-law with degrees from Johns Hopkins and Vanderbilt before listening to Aunt Karen on social media. Facts about the vaccine are important to consume while forming your personal decision about the vaccine. Below are two ways to better educate you and your family about the vaccine.
CDC: Facts & Myths About COVID Vaccine
We do not want our employees to have to choose between receiving a vaccine or coming to work, so we are working to remove barriers (travel time, mileage, child care needs, etc.) by providing hourly team members with a one-time payment equivalent of four (4) hours of regular pay after receiving a completed COVID-19 vaccination. Salaried team members will receive additional time during the business day to accommodate time away from work.
We understand the decision to receive the COVID-19 vaccination is a personal choice, and although we are encouraging employees to take it, we are not requiring you to do so.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to consider getting vaccinated. I appreciate the opportunity to discuss this important decision with you today.
Derek
