On April 7, 2023, Rio Grande Fence Co. of Nashville completed their 9th Annual Good Friday Service Project. This year, RGF served Youth Encouragement Services.
Y.E.S. programs effectively provide inner-city youth a safe place to go where they can engage in social, educational, recreational and cultural development Each year, RGF selects a Nashville non-profit with perimeter security needs and provides all materials and installation for a new, commercial-grade fence at no cost to the organization.
Y.E.S contacted RGF at the end of 2022 needing a quote on creating a safer area for the K-12 children that receive services at their Nolensville Road facility. Now that Y.E.S. has a brand-new fence in multiple areas, the non-profit has perimeter security and peace of mind.
Background
Since it began in 2015, our annual Good Friday Service Project provides an enduring, visible tribute to the faith and ideals which Lee Roy Smith strived to achieve in life and business. We believe in demonstrating through our actions the faith and ethics Mr. Smith founded Rio Grande Fence upon in 1958. Our annual Good Friday Service Project allows us to serve others and use the measure of our talents to give back. Each year, RGF selects a Nashville (Davidson County) non-profit with perimeter security needs and provides all materials and installation for a new, commercial-grade fence at no cost to the organization.
Selection Process
RGF accepts nominations throughout the year. To be eligible, the non-profit must be in Nashville (Davidson County.) In January, we narrow down the field to a set of finalists. We then contact the finalists to conduct site visits and meet with the organization about the service project request. Typically, by February 1st, we announce the annual recipient of our Good Friday service project.
