NASHVILLE, Tenn.—August 9, 2024—Rio Grande Fence Co. of Tennessee donated and installed a Trex composite board and ornamental steel fence to Conexión Américas’ multipurpose satellite lot on Nolensville Pike. The installation secured a rear perimeter and added an attractive front facing the street and along the property line. “This fence is going to help us to provide more safety and more privacy for our team, our staff, and our guests,” Martha Silva, Co-Executive Director of Conexión Américas, said. “We are very thankful to Rio Grande for the generosity, for the donation, and for the hard work to make our work easier and to continue helping the Latino community in Nashville.” “Our Service Projects allow us to utilize the talents we’ve been given to aid a local non-profit every year,” said Derek Smith, Chief Operating Officer & 3rd Generation Owner. “For over 20 years, Conexión Américas has provided newcomers to Nashville with services to acclimate them to their vibrant new home. We are thrilled to aid in the revitalization of their property so they can continue their mission.” The first section, a run of 8’ height, privacy style fence of Trex composite boards set on steel posts, secured the back property line. The second section, a 5’ height installation angling from the front of the property on Nolensville Pike and down the property’s side, included Ameristar Montage Plus, commercial steel, fence. “The composite board is going to hold up really well over time against insects, rot, and weather damages. In the front, we wanted to add some curb appeal as well as block some unwanted foot traffic,” said Hunter Newton, a 7-year veteran RGF Project Manager who oversaw the installation. The multipurpose lot facilitates overflow parking for events at Conexión Américas and Casa Azafrán, an MNPS school which also serves as a lead voting center in the community.
About Rio Grande Fence Co. of Tennessee Established in 1958, Rio Grande Fence Co. of Tennessee exclusively serves businesses, contractors, government agencies, sports facilities, and special event coordinators throughout Tennessee with commercial fence and perimeter security solutions. The Company won the American Fence Association National Contractor of the Year in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019. For permanent installations, service repairs, and temporary fence rentals, RGF’s professionals are prepared to serve commercial customers throughout the state of Tennessee with offices in Nashville and Knoxville. Service Project and Selection Process RGF completes two major service projects per year with one in each RGF location, Nashville and Knoxville. Nominations are accepted throughout the year. Since it began in 2015, the annual Service Project provides an enduring, visible tribute to the faith and ideals which Lee Roy Smith, Rio Grande Fence Co. of Tennessee’s Founder, strived to achieve in life and business. Each year, RGF selects a local non-profit with perimeter security needs and provides all materials and installation for a new, commercial-grade fence at no cost to the organization. To be eligible, the non-profit must be in Nashville (Davidson County) or Knoxville (Knox County.) In January, we narrow down the field to a set of finalists. We then contact the finalists to conduct site visits and meet with the organization about the service project request. Typically, by early February, we announce the annual recipient of our Service Projects in Nashville and Knoxville. Historical information and an application for the 2025 Service Project is available at www.rgfence.com. About Conexión Américas Conexión Américas was founded in 2002 to address the pressing challenges, and opportunities, created by demographic changes in Middle Tennessee as an increasing number of Latino families moved to the state.
